Beckley Art Center & the Raleigh County Prevention Coalition are excited to announce our next Call for Art for the upcoming group exhibition, Purple for Recovery. The goal for this exhibition is to raise awareness for National Recovery Month and raise money for local entities doing the work of melding art and recovery together Raleigh County style.
Purple was chosen for this important awareness month to give a visual cue to celebrate people who have made the brave choice to be in recovery, as well as expand on the education and awareness of addiction and recovery.
For the past 8 weeks, our Visual Arts Director, Saja Montague, has been leading a creative photography project for community members who attended our Creative Aging Photography Project. The final presentation of the students images with be made into wheat paste murals on the outside wall of the BAC building. We hope to see you there!

Clutter To Change is a series of paintings that simulate the natural manifestation of
clutter and disorganization within interior spaces. These large scale, congested
compositions reflect and explore ideas of comfortability within inner turmoil, self-
conflict, and mental and emotional distortion.
