BAC offers private lessons in both musical and visual arts for all ages and skill levels. All lessons incorporate introductory basics, fundamentals, and your own creative voice. Whether you are a beginner or just seeking to brush up on your skills, our educational programming can help!
Private music lessons offered are for all ages and skill levels. Private music lessons are offered in a wide array of instruments; including banjo, bass, drums, guitar, mandolin, piano, and voice.
Private art lessons are also offered in a wide array of mediums; including drawing, watercolor, acrylic, oil pastels, soft pastels, charcoal, and photography.
Choose between weekly 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions. Follow the link and we will work with our instructors to schedule your first lesson.
30 minute sessions - $100 per month/4 lessons
45 minute sessions - $150 per month/ 4 lessons
60 minute sessions - $200 per month/4 lessons

Seth Hughes is our Performing Arts Director heading up our entire music program. Seth teaches guitar, percussion, voice and piano.
Seth also leads group lessons throughout the year, such as, Songwriting, Recording, and Music Theory.
Kim Beckett is our long-time BAC, veteran piano instructor.
Hannah is a talented musician who teaches piano and voice. She's also a talented artist who teaches a variety of art classes throughout the year.
Zach is a long-time BAC guitar instructor, who also teaches group classes in Guitar & Music Theory throughout the year.
Lily is a talented young musician, and our violin and fiddle instructor.

Artist Teresa McGlothlin (@glasscatwv) spent 13 years in a Fayette County holler before a 2022 flood relocated her to Charleston. Originally a musician and currently a writer, she’s often influenced by the DIY posters and artwork that always line venue walls and the wilds of the coalfield flora. Her stained glass mosaic work has been hosted by Tamarack and the Beckley Art Center, and her focus has recently expanded to include mixed media pieces, found objects, and recycled materials.

A life long resident of Raleigh County, West Virginia, Beni Holley is a self taught artist who began her art journey in 2016 after retirement from a thirty-two year career as a professional pet groomer and a six year stint in the profes
Instructor, Beni Holley, can show you the fundamentals of watercolor, acrylic, oil and pastel painting. A life long resident of Raleigh County, West Virginia, Beni Holley is a self taught artist who began her art journey in 2016 after retirement from a thirty-two year career as a professional pet groomer and a six year stint in the professional music world. Beni is a member of the Beckley Art Center where she also teaches classes and in 2018 became a juried Tamarack artist. When not in her studio or out in the fresh air sketching or painting, Beni enjoys spending time with her husband Bob and her animals.
Saja is a lifelong photographer, with a BFA in Photography. She specializes in digital portraiture, documentary photography, with an emphasis in darkroom and analogue photography. Saja is also trained in alternative processes such as cyanotypes and anthotypes. She built a community darkroom in our BAC classroom and offers the space up as studio or a lesson space for community members.
Arnold Lopes, born on Maui, Hawaii, went to the University of Hawaii at Mano were he earned a Bachelors in the Fine Arts degree with a focus on studio painting. He teaches acrylic, drawing and elements of art. He moved to Virginia in 1997 to work in the art framing industry. At the same time, he taught art classes at the Reston Community

He teaches acrylic, drawing and elements of art. He moved to Virginia in 1997 to work in the art framing industry. At the same time, he taught art classes at the Reston Community Center for twenty five years. He participated in the local art scene and recently closed a show in Virginia this summer. He moved to West Virginia to be near his son and granddaughter.
Courtney is a local high school teacher, published author, WV annual writers competition winner with a Bachelors in English, Masters in Education, Engliish & Creative Writing. She has 8 years of teaching experience and would love to teach you more about concepts of creative writing. She also teaches embroidery and other fiber arts classes!
