Wild & Tame
Wild and Tame celebrates the creatures, landscapes, and natural world that surround us—from the untamed beauty of wildlife and wild places to the animals and environments that have become part of our everyday lives.
Through a variety of styles and media, participating artists explore their own interpretations of what it means to be wild or tame. Some works capture the energy and independence of animals in nature, while others reflect the companionship and familiarity of the animals closest to us. Still others explore the plants, landscapes, textures, and patterns that connect these two worlds.
Together, the works in this exhibition invite us to look more closely at our relationship with nature and to appreciate the beauty, personality, humor, and wonder found in both the wild and the familiar.

What does it take to build the Upside Down?
Before the monsters, the vines, and the unforgettable sets became part of Stranger Things, artists spent years bringing them to life behind the scenes.
Now you can experience that creative process right here in Beckley.
Join us at the Beckley Art Center for a one-of-a-kind exhibit featuring original props, creature effects, set pieces, costumes, and behind-the-scenes artwork by Seay Earheart, who worked on Stranger Things from Season 1 through Season 5 as Scenic Foreman, Lead Set Designer, Special Effects Artist, and Lead Sculptor.

Meet Seay, hear the stories behind the sets and creature effects, and discover how one of Netflix's most iconic worlds was built.

Seay will also be appearing at the Appalachian Arts & Crafts Fair on Friday (10 AM–6 PM), where he'll be available for autographs and will serve as a judge for the BAG Art Exhibit.
